Proposals for tourists wanting to see the Passion Play

Let yourself be overwhelmed by the “Passion” through a suggestive journey in the biellese culture and tradition.

For the 2020 edition, guided tours to the Amphitheatre, the Passion Museum and the village of Sordevolo will be organized.

  • Day 1: arrival at the hotel in the Sordevolo area and accommodation in rooms. Transfer to Sordevolo in the evening for the dinner in a typical restaurant, before attending to the Passion play. At the end of the show, return to the hotel for the night.
  • Day 2: after breakfast, trip back to the places of origin.

  • Day 2: after breakfast, trip to Viverone Lake, surrounded by pristine flora and fauna. Through a boat trip you will discover this small subalpine lake. A visit to a local winery, known for the production of the Erbaluce wine will follow; at the end of it, return to the hotel. Transfer to Sordevolo in the evening for the dinner in a typical restaurant, before attending to the Passion play. At the end of the show, return to the hotel for the night.
  • Day 3: after breakfast, trip back to the places of origin.
  • Day 1: arrival at the hotel in the Biella area, dinner and accommodation in rooms for the night.
  • Day 2: after breakfast, you will leave for an excursion to Torino, for a guided tour of the city. Italy’s first capital city will surprise you with the impressive complex of the Savoy Royal Palace, the arcades connecting Piazza Castello to Piazza San Felice, the charming shops, the pubs and the historical cafes. Return to the hotel, dinner and accommodation.
  • Day 3: Excursion to the Maggiore Lake. Once in Stresa, boarding to Isola Bella, where you will visit the Borromeo Palace with its beautiful hanging gardens. At the end of the visit, the trip continues to Isola dei Pescatori, with its characteristic streets and restaurants where you can taste the local fish specialties. At the end of the visit, back to the hotel to get ready for the night and then transfer to Sordevolo. Typical dinner with local specialties before attending the show. Return to the hotel at the end of the play and accommodation.
  • Day 4: slow awakening today. After breakfast, departure to Biella, with its peculiar medieval centre of the Piazzo and its beautiful dome of the sixteenth century. In the afternoon, trip to Viverone lake, a small blue jewel surrounded by the piedmontese green woods and fields. Dinner and accommodation in the hotel.
  • Day 5: In the morning, transfer to Milan, capital of fashion. A local guide will take you to the dome -one of the most wonderful examples of gothic architecture in the world-, then to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, theatre Alla Scala, Castello Sforzesco. Free time will follow, in order to enjoy a typical aperitivo milanese style in one of the many bars in the city centre before going back to the hotel for dinner.
  • Day 6: You are not in Piedmont if you don’t taste the famous local wines. Day dedicated to the visit of one of the most popular wine growing areas of the country. Visit to Asti: the city in Piedmont where the medieval origins are mostly visible and intact. Wonderful churches, buildings, towers and fortified houses will guide you to the discovery of a marvelous architectural and monumental heritage. The trip continues to Alba through a landscape characterized by hazel trees (here Nutella cream was created and is now produced) and vineyards. After a brief walk in the elegant city centre, you will visit a winery where the famous Barolo is produced, enjoying a wine tasting of the excellent local products. Return to the hotel for dinner and accommodation.
  • Day 7: after breakfast, trip back to the places of origin.

A local guide will take you to the dome -one of the most wonderful examples of gothic architecture in the world-, then to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, theatre Alla Scala, Castello Sforzesco.   • Day 6:  After breakfast, boat trip to Locarno, elegant town on the Swiss part of Maggiore Lake. From this city, you will board on the Centovalli train to Domodossola. The journey crosses the picturesque 100 valleys, and along the route you can admire the narrow lateral valleys and several waterfalls. Return to the hotel from Domodossola, dinner and accommodation.
  • Day 7: Trip to Orta lake, offering incredible views. From the peculiar centre of Orta you will reach Isola San Giulio by boat, to visit its abbey dating back to 1000. Free time in Orta before leaving to Ghemme, where inside the medieval town is scheduled for you a tasting of local products and wines, before going back to the hotel for the night.
  • Day 8: after breakfast, trip back to the places of origin.
